GENIUS LOCI WEIMAR IS LOOKING FOR INNOVATIVE IDEAS FOR THE FACADE PROJECTION FESTIVAL ON

10TH TO 12TH AUGUST 2018.

2018年8月10日〜12日に行われる「ファケード・プロジェクション・フェスティバル」に向けて、GENIUS LOCI WEIMARが革新的なアイデアを募集中。

– 48 THOUSAND EURO

– 14 TH OF FEBRUARY – 18 TH OF MARCH

– 30 SECONDS VIDEO

Applicants have until the 18th of March to apply with a 30 sec video clip outlining the central design

concept for the projection of one of the following locations:

Goethehaus, Haus Frauvon Stein and the Bauhaus-University Library.

 For the first time, the competition will address not only video mapping performance art but also

the emerging topic of media architecture installations in historical context.

 

The three winning artists will be awarded prize money totaling € 48,000 for the realisation of

a 10–15 min high-resolution audio-visual production,

to be presented during the festival as a video mapping

on the respective facade, using the newest Christie projectors, provided by publitec.

 

THE MOST IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS FOR

THE GENIUS LOCI WEIMAR COMPETITION ARE:

• Innovative design in the form of an audio-visual video mapping, with particular

observance paid to the Genius Loci.

• Individual, original and sophisticated handling of the spirit of the location with

respect to the history and architecture etc.

• The deliberate omission of erratic gimmickry & showmanship, intrusive clichés,

and careless historical retelling.

• Moreover, to enable all participants to create the best possible results, we are offering all registered participants a full licensefor the MXWendler Stage Designer video mapping

software

 参加者は、３月18日までに ”Goethehaus, Haus Frau von Stein and the Bauhaus-University Library”への投影を目的としたデザインコンセプトの概要の30秒の動画を添えてエントリーをしてください。

まず初めに、このコンペティションは、映像マッピングのパフォーマンスアートだけでなく、歴史的な文脈におけるメディア建築物のインスタレーションの立ち上がりにまで、活動を幅広く行っています。

publitecによって開発された最新のプロジェクターChristieを用いて、10~15分間のハイレゾオーディオビジュアルプロダクションを、会期中に各々の表現によるビデオマッピングをプレゼンし、それを実現させた３組の優勝アーティストに、総額48,000ユーロが渡されます。 

本コンペティションに求められる最も重要な要素は下記のとおりです。

・Genius Lociへの敬意を表した、オーディオビジュアルの形式に則った革新的な映像デザイン

・歴史や建築物などを尊重し、場所への、個性的でオリジナリティーに溢れ、洗練されたこだわりを用いること

・非凡な技巧や技術力、押し付けがましい通例的な言葉や不本意な歴史の改作を意図的に排すること

・加えて、全ての参加者が最も可能性に満ちた結果を生み出せるように、登録した参加者は、マッピングのソフトであるMXWendler Stage Designer のフルライセンスが求められます。
