「砂」を素材にした彫刻作品である「砂像」を展示する「砂の美術館」。

2019年クリスマス特別企画は3Dプロジェクションマッピング、砂と光の幻想曲（ファンタジア） THE LOVE STORY OF TAJMAHAL-ラブストーリー オブ タージマハル。第12期　南アジア編をテーマとした砂像作品です。

「ムガル帝国 皇帝シャー・ジャハーンと王妃の愛の物語」

ムガル朝の黄金時代を築いたムガル帝国第５代皇帝シャー・ジャハーン。その繁栄の陰には最愛の妻、ムムターズ・マハルの存在がありました。深く愛しあっていた二人。しかしムムターズ・マハルは病に倒れ、先立ってしまいます。

皇帝は深く愛妃をしのび、彼女の記憶を永遠にとどめるため霊廟タージマハルを建造しました。晩年、皇帝は白く輝く霊廟を眺め、愛妃を想いながら生涯を終えます。皇帝と妃の棺は霊廟の中で寄り添うように並べられ、二人の愛は永く語り継がれています。

今年のクリスマスは、二人の愛の物語を見に鳥取に来ませんか？

The museum will hold Christmas special event “3D Projection Mapping” The title is “The Love Story of
TajMahal”, which is a never-ending love story of Mughal Empire. 

Shah Jahan, the 5th Emperor of the Mughal Empire, who established the golden age of the Mughal Dynasty.
Behind that prosperity was the existence of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. They loved each other deeply.
But Mumtaz Mahal fell ill and passed away.

The emperor thought back to his wife and built the mausoleum, Taj Mahal to keep her memory forever. In his later years, the emperor looked at the white shining mausoleum and ended his life while thinking of her. The emperor and his beloved wife’s coffins are lined up in a mausoleum, and their love has been handed down for a long time.
